[LOS ANGELES GALAXY] Pros Jack McBean and Jose Villarreal are among the playersthe Los Angeles Galaxy is taking on its U-18 academy team to the Real Sociedad XXVII Youth Invitational Tournament in Spain.
The Galaxy qualified for the tournament by winning theGeneration adidas Cup for MLS academy teams last August.
“I’m really excited to get over there and play,” said McBean, the youngest player in franchise history,
“I’m just hoping to get a good experience out of it,” said Villarreal, whose younger brother, Jaime, also is a member of the team heading overseas. “I was pretty overwhelmedwhen I was told I was going to go on the trip.”
The Galaxy will play Spain’s Valencia, Osasuna and host Real Sociedad, opening group play on Friday.
