Japanese women edge USA for Kirin Cup title

Women's World Cup champion Japan won the Kirin Cup with a 4-1 win over Brazil, edging the USA on goals scored.

Yuika Sugasawa's goal in the last minute of play was the difference. Japan and the USA played to a 1-1 tie, and the USA then beat Brazil, 3-0. Japan had broken open a 1-1 tie in the second half with goals three minutes apart by Yuki Nagasato and Aya Miyama.

Brazil was without Marta, who was in Sweden with her new club Tyreso, which opens its league season this week.
