Members Saudi Arabia’s Shura Council, the nation’s formal advisory body, said the salary paid to Saudi national team coach Frank Rijkaard is a waste of money.
The formerDutch star and Barcelona coach, who signed a three-year deal in June worth $15.9 million, failed to qualify the team for the 2014 World Cup.
The Shura council members said Rijkaard’ssalary would be better spent on youth programs and pointed out his salary was equivalent to that of 10 ministers.
The team won just one of its six World Cup qualifiers.
