FIFA announced plans to build an underground museum alongside its headquarters in Zurich. The project will cost $196 million and has been approved by FIFA's executive committee. Zurich city
authorities need to sign off on the plans, though.
FIFA President Sepp Blatter said ''it is high time that world soccer had a meeting place for its
millions of fans.''
FIFA certainly has the resources to build the museum. It declared cash reserves of $1.2 billion in its annual report published last month.
