-- Anthony Barnfather, lawyer of Wayne Rooney Sr., after the father of the Manchester United star was cleared of allegations of involvement in a soccer betting scam. Rooney Sr. was one of nine men arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud over bets placed on a game between Scottish clubs Motherwell and Hearts in 2010. Concerns about the game were raised after a number of bets from the Liverpool area were placed on there being a red card. During the Liverpool-born Motherwell midfielder Steve Jennings, who had already been booked, was shown a straight red card for foul and abusive language aimed at referee Stevie O'Reilly late in the 2-1 home defeat.
