It was a memorable weekend for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Dutch striker of German club Schalke 04.

On Saturday, he appeared in photos fighting with Schalke teammateJermaine Jones, the U.S. national team midfielder.

On Sunday, he scored in a 1-1 tie with Augsburg — his 25th goal of the season, which ties him with Bayern Munich’sMario Gomez atop the Bundesliga scoring race. After answering a barrage of postgame questions from journalists, Huntelaar discovered the Schalke team bus had left without him enroute to Munich airport.

“Someone counted double,” admitted Schalke goalkeeper Lars Unnerstall before captain Benedikt Hoewedes finally noticed Huntelaarwas missing. Local police helped him link up with the team bus so he could catch the flight home to Gelsenkirchen.
