USA to face Jamaica in Columbus

[DATEBOOK] The USA will play Jamaica at Columbus Crew Stadium on Sept. 11 for the second home match of semifinal round of qualifying in Concacaf for the 2014 World Cup.

The USA has never lost at Crew Stadium, where it has a 5-0-3 record dating back to 2000. In six World Cup qualifiers, the USA is 4-0-2 at the Ohio venue.

Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET, and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN2, ESPN3 and the Univision family of networks.

The United States will begin its World Cup qualifying campaign June 8 against Antigua & Barbuda at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

    Why a USMNT qualifier at Crew Stadium; only the USSF gurus can explain this venue selection. And why the Tampa venue for the Antigua contest when a better idea would have been for the opponent to take a longer trip into the CONUS heartland.
