Croatia's Bilic confirms impending departure

[EURO 2012 COUNTDOWN] Croatia coach Slaven Bilic, who dropped veteran strikers Mladen Petric and Ivan Klasnic from his squad for the European Championship, confirmed he will leave the job after the finals. Bilic has been coach since 2006 and remained on the job even though Croatia did not qualify for the 2010 World Cup.

Everton striker Nikica Jelavic and Wolfsburg's Mario Mandzukic are expected to be Croatia's strike force at Euro 2012, leaving no room for Klasnic, 32, and Petric, 31. Both have had poor club seasons.

Croatia can also call upon Bayern Munich's Ivica Olic and Brazilian-born Eduardo of Shakhtar Donetsk up front.
