Texas derbies match national leaders

[ECNL SPOTLIGHT] The Dallas Texans, first in the ECNL's National Flight A with a 9-1-2 record, will attempt to make amends for their only loss of the season when they face Solar Chelsea Sunday at Texas Women's University.

It's the second-to-last game of the regular season for the Texans, whose only loss came Tuesday when Solar prevailed, 2-1, on goals by Brinkley Field and Mariah Titus.

Texas-bound Kelsey Shimmick leads the Texans with 15 goals in 18 games.

Second in the Texas Conference and eighth nationally with a 9-2-1 record, is led by UCLA-bound Taylor Smith (16 goals) and Boston College recruit Janna Jeffrey (10).

Another key ECNL match involving two other Texas powers will take place this weekend when Lonestar faces Sting in the U-16 age group.
Lonestar (10-2-4) is third in points per game in the National A Flight, while Sting (6-3-2) is fifth.

Lonestar features Mikaela Harvey (13 goals). The Sting U-16s are coached by former indoor star Tatu.
