[USA-BRAZIL] Brazil coach Mano Menezes will rely heavily on Brazilian-based players to lead the attack when Brazil faces
the USA Wednesday at FedExField in Landover, Md. (TV: ESPN2, ESPN3, TeleFutura, live, 8 pm ET) in the first game of its U.S tour. Young star Neymar is one of 17
players in the Brazil squad who are eligible to represent Brazil in the London Olympics as under-23 players.
Paulo Henrique Ganso, Neymar's Santos teammate, will miss the three-game U.S. tour following arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. Barcelona defender Daniel Alves was ruled out because of a broken collarbone.
While the backline is comprised of European-based players, seven of the 11 midfielders and forwards play in Brazil.
Without Neymar and goalie Rafael, excused because of Santos' participation in the Libertadores Cup, Brazil cruised to a 3-1 victory over Denmark on Saturday in Hamburg. Hulk led the Brazilians with two goals.
Brazil also will play Mexico Sunday in Arlington, Texas, and Argentina on June 9 in East Rutherford, N.J.
GOALKEEPERS: Jefferson (Botafogo), Neto (Fiorentina/ITA), Rafael (Santos)
DEFENDERS: Danilo (Porto/POR), Juan (Inter Milan/ITA), David Luiz (Chelsea/ENG), Marcelo (Real Madrid/SPA), Rafael (Man. United/ENG), Alex Sandro (Porto/POR), Thiago Silva (AC Milan/ITA), Bruno Uvini (Tottenham/ENG)
MIDFIELDERS: Casemiro (Sao Paulo), Giuliano (Dnipro/UKR), Lucas (Sao Paulo), Wellington Nem (Fluminense), Oscar (Internacional), Romulo (Vasco de Gama), Sandro (Tottenham/BRA)
FORWARDS: Leandro Damiao (Internacional), Hulk (Porto/POR), Neymar (Santos), Alexandre Pato (AC Milan/ITA)
Lucky Brazil. They get to play on three narrow fields.
YOU HEARD IT HEAR FIRST!
The US is gonna dominate brazil!! think germany-argentina 2010wc. brazil won't know what hit them. im a firm believer in strategies and tactics over superstar players. JK has put a system in place for the US to now ground and pound teams into submission. We have quality at every position now. One of the best functioning midfields of any natiional team in the world.(donovan-dempsey-bradley-jones)
the world has been waiting for the american superpower to flex its muscle in men's soccer(football), with the win at italy, a demolition of scotland, and a domination of the great brazil, the world will finally be on notice what the us is capable on the pitch. US 3-1
I'm hoping JK picks a strategy and formation and sticks to it for 90 mins. If we revert back to counterattacking for the sake of expediency and a draw/win we won't learn to stick to our guns and believe in this new mentality. Say what you will about Spain but that last WC final was a testament to their belief in themselves and their system to eventually produce a result.
I'm a great fan of soccer! I'm very much excited about the thrill that was explained above! I wanted to buy Brazil tickets online from the best ticket vendor http://www.goodseattickets.com
