GOLD CUP: Group B pre-tournament update


Three MLS players -- Andy Williams of Chicago, Craig Ziadie of the MetroStars and Tyrone Marshall of Los Angeles -- are expected to play for the Reggae Boyz.

They were among 12 foreign-based players on Coach Carl Brown's training camp roster.

The Reggae Boyz are scheduled to host Cuba in an international friendly on July 6 in Kingston, before meeting Paraguay three days later.

Colombia will feature nine players from the Confederations Cup, plus four players each from Independiente Medellin and America Cali. Libertadores Cup conflicts prevented players from these clubs from playing in the Confederations Cup.

The preliminary squad Guatemala has brought to the United States for pre-Gold Cup warmups includes seven foreign-based players -- four in the United States, two in Mexico and one in Spain.

The American connection includes two MLS players -- 2002 MVP Carlos Ruiz of the Los Angeles Galaxy and Freddy Garcia of the Columbus Crew -- and two players who will be playing NCAA Division I soccer next fall -- Mynor Gonzalez of SMU and Ricardo Arenas of Rutgers.
