Honduras picks Najar and Espinoza

[OLYMPIC COUNTDOWN] D.C. United's Andy Najar, the 2010 MLS Rookie of the Year, and Sporting Kansas City's Roger Espinoza have been named to the Honduras Olympic team that will compete in the 2012 London Games.

Najar, 19, will join the Honduran team for training on July 2. He took part in qualifying, where the Catrachos finished second to Mexico in the Concacaf zone.

Espinoza, who was born in Honduras and later moved to Colorado, played for Honduras at the 2010 World Cup. He was named as one of three overage players along with Mynor Figueroa and Jerry Bengston.

Honduras will leave July 8 for Europe, where it will play three friendly games.
