Chicago maintains edge over Boston and Western New York

[WPSL ELITE] Only three points separates the top three teams at the halfway point of the inaugural WPSL Elite League season. The Chicago Red Stars maintained their lead over the Boston Breakers and Western New York Flash.

Former U.S. international Lori Chalupny had goals in both games as the Red Stars beat the ASA Chesapeake Charge (3-1) and Philadelphia Fever (4-1) to make it eight wins in nine games.

-- The Breakers beat the New York Fury, 2-0, in a match that saw U.S. national wingers Heather O’Reilly and Tobin Heath line up for Boston and New York, respectively.

-- The Flash defeated Philadelphia, 2-0, and tied New England Mutiny, 3-3, to run its undefeated string to eight matches. U.S. U-17 star Morgan Andrews had a goal and an assist for the Mutiny.
