MLVA claims pair of Region IV championships

[ROAD TO ROCK HILL] Two MLVA teams won U.S. Youth Soccer girls titles at the Region IV Championships in Phoenix.

MVLA Lightning, the 2010 under-14 national champion, is back in the National Championships, prevailing over Sereno White North on penalty kicks after a scoreless game in the under-16 final.

MVLA Mercury Black, which qualified for the Region IV Championships as the Cal North wildcard, reeled off three shutouts in the knockout rounds to advance to Nationals.

Autumn Altamirano
's hat trick gave So Cal Blues the under-19 title with a 3-1 win over the Pride Predators for their second Region IV title and fourth trip to the National Championships.
