[MLS TRANSACTIONS] With the July 1 deadline for teams to waive players on semi-guaranteed contracts without penalties, clubs continued to clear spots on their rosters and create salary space. The Colorado Rapids waived three players, including forward Quincy Amarikwa, who made 31 appearances in the last two-plus seasons.

Colorado also released midfielder Ross LaBauex and defender Eddie Ababio.

Real Salt Lake waived Chris Estridge and Cody Arnoux to follow up on the recent moves to get rid of SMU products Diogo de Almeida and Leone Cruz.

San Jose waived Ellis McLoughlin (one goal in 10 games in two seasons) and first-year defender Josh Suggs.

In one trade, D.C. United picked up Chinese striker Long Tan from the Vancouver Whitecaps for a 2015 Supplemental Draft pick.
