Mutiny shocks Boston Breakers

[WPSL ELITE] In perhaps the biggest upset of the WPSL Elite season, the New England Mutiny shocked the Boston Breakers with two stoppage-time goals from Tiffany Weimer and Taleen Dimirdjian to earn a 2-1 victory that temporarily at least kept New England’s hope of a playoff berth alive, while the loss dropped Boston out of the top spot when Chicago Red Stars defeated Philadelphia Fever, 1-0.

Lauren Fowlkes scored her team-leading seventh goal of the season for Chicago on an assist from Ella Masar in the 66th minute to break its stalemate with the Philadelphia Fever.

The Western New York Flash and New York Fury are third and fourth in the standings with three games to play in the regular season.

Now that both the WUSA and WPS have failed, it's time to get behind the WPSL and use its existing structure to make it the national womens league. A few of the old WUSA/WPS clubs are already there. Add a few more and establish a divisional structure with promotion/relegation.
