D.C. United Women defeated defeated the Virginia Beach Piranhas, 3-0, on Saturday night in the Eastern Conference semifinals, and took down the Southeast Division champion Charlotte Lady Eagles in similar fashion less than a day later in the final. Quebec City Amiral beat the Laval Comets, 5-4, in a shootout before 580 fans at Francois-Xavier Garneau College after their game ended in a 1-1 tie. Both goals in the Quebec derby were scored in the first half -- Eva Thouvenot for Laval and Frederique Paradis for Quebec City.

The Pali Blues have won league titles in 2008 and 2009, while Ottawa has been runner-up on three occasions. D.C. United Women are in their second season. Quebec City is making its first appearance in the final four in four seasons in the league.

“We still haven’t won anything, so I’m glad they’re not too excited,” Pali coach Charlie Naimo said. “We just won the conference and I’m happy with that, but it just put us closer to the goal.”
