Saborio on fire; League scoring up slightly

[MLS GOLEADORES] Real Salt Lake's Alvaro Saborio moved into a tie for second place in the MLS leading scorers' race ... For the latest on the Golden Boot race and league-wide scoring ...

* Alvaro Saborio scored both goals in Real Salt Lake's 2-1 win over Vancouver to tie him with the Red Bulls' Kenny Cooper on 13 goals. Saborio has scored six goals in his last four appearances. The Costa Rican has already exceeded his most productive season -- he scored 12 in his first year with RSL in 2010. He scored 11 goals in 2011.

* Leading scorer Chris Wondolowski (17 goals) has been shut out in the Quakes' last three games but he did assist on their stoppage-time goal in a 1-1 tie with Chicago on Saturday.

* The Red Bulls' Thierry Henry scored 11th goal of the season in a 3-1 loss to Montreal.

* Seattle's Eddie Johnson moved into the leading scorer's rankings when his ninth goal of the season helped the Sounders to a 2-1 win over Colorado.

* The league-wide scoring average after 205 games is 2.62. Last season ended with an average of 2.58, the second lowest in MLS history following the 2.46 produced in 2010.

* San Jose is MLS's high-scoring team, averaging 1.96 goals per game.

* Chivas USA is mustering a league-low 0.70 goals per game.
