'Chicharito' set to face Americans

[USA-MEXICO] Mexico has called up five foreign-based stars for its friendly against the USA Wednesday at Mexico City's Azteca Stadium (TV, ESPN2, ESPN3, Univision, 8 p.m. ET).

Manchester United's Javier Hernandez and new Valencia signing Andres Guardado are among the players.

Four players each from Monterrey and its city rival, Tigres, are also in the squad.

Goalkeepers: Guillermo Ochoa (Ajaccio/FRA), Alfredo Talavera (Toluca)
Defenders: Francisco Javier Rodriguez (VfB Stuttgart/GER), Hector Moreno (Espanyol/SPA), Severo Meza (Monterrey), Hugo Ayala (Tigres), Jorge Torres Nilo (Tigres), Enrique Perez (Morelia), Adrian Aldrete (Club America)

    If history is any indicator, USA will lose this game. In 1997 during the World Cup Qualifiers, I heard the announcers at that time note, "Mexico's record at the Azteca against the US...has never lost." Even listening to Alexi Lalas interview in 1998, he said, "it was like playing in the thunderdome...over 100,000..its intimidating."
