The English FA has charged Newcastle coach Alan Pardew with misconduct for pushing an assistant referee.
Referee Martin Atkinson sent Pardew to the
stands after he shoved Peter Kirkup following a disputed throw-in during his team's 2-1 home win against Tottenham on Saturday.
After the game, Pardew apologized and vowed
to "take my punishment."
"I don't know what came over me," he said. "It was silly. It was 100% stupid. It was ridiculous. I'm still embarrassed by it. I've never doing anything like that
before. I'll have to take my punishment. ... Here's me telling my players to behave themselves, follow the Olympic spirit and do everything in the right way, and we did. Apart from me."
