Not every international friendly played in the U.S. is a slam-dunk success.
A busy summer of games involving some of the world's top clubs didn't help promoting agency Swen Labels
International, which Tuesday announced it had canceled a friendly between Jamaica and Kenya to be played Saturday at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn.
Samuel
Sampson, a spokesman for Singapore-based promoter Ricky Swen and his company, said only 120 tickets were sold for the match. Swen had also canceled a match to be played July
28 between Jamaica and Liberia when it couldn't finalize agreements from the teams and the U.S. Soccer Federation. Kenya was brought in as a replacement and the match rescheduled.
Sampson
says his group is still talking to both teams to see if the game can be rescheduled.
