MIDWEST. Central Michigan stunned West Virginia, 2-0, at the Penn State Invitational. Laura Twidle chipped WVU goalkeeper Sara Keane in the second minute to put the Chippewas ahead and Morgan Wilcoxon added to the lead two minutes before the end of the half.

WEST. Despite being outshot, 16-3, for the game, No. 21 Santa Clara hung on for a 1-0 win Thursday night at California thanks to Sarah Jackson's goal in the 16th minute. Freshman goalkeeper Andy Tostanoski bounced back from a 6-1 loss to Stanford to collect her first career shutout while picking up nine saves, seven in the second half.

-- No. 11 Portland drew a capacity crowd of 4,912 fans at Merlo Field for its 2-0 win over Oregon. Micaela Capelle put the Pilots ahead 150 seconds into the game and a late own goal sealed the victory.
