BU ends No. 10 Eagles' Beanpot domination

[BOSTON COLLEGE-BOSTON UNIVERSITY] Junior Derek McCaffrey scored early in the second half to lead Boston University in a 1-0 victory at No. 10 Boston College, ending the Eagles' streak of five straight wins in the Beanpot series. The win was the 500th in the history of the BU program.

In the first half, BC goalie Justin Luthy was in position to stop multiple crosses into the box from sophomore Anthony Ciccone, but McCaffrey was able to get a hold of Ciccone's cross in the 55th minute and quickly pushed the ball past Luthy to put the Terriers ahead.

BC had numerous chances to score the equalizer, including a point-blank attempt from sophomore Diego Medina-Mendez in the 59th minute just moments after McCaffrey scored the go-ahead goal, yet did not to convert.
