Mourinho wants more from Real in Super Cup

After a display labeled "unacceptable" during a 2-1 league loss to Getafe Sunday, Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho is demanding improvement. The league champion has not won in three matches so far this season and faces a 3-2 deficit heading into the second leg of its Spanish Super Cup series against archrival Barcelona on Wednesday.

"For me the only problem is if the difference in performance between the first two games and the last match remains, that's the only problem," he said. "Win the Super Cup, not win the Super Cup. Beat Barca, not beat Barca. None of that is important to me right now.

"My priority right now is to know whether the attitude we had against Getafe was a chance happening or whether it's a situation that has had consequences on the psychological profile of some players. That for me is the fundamental thing for tomorrow."

Real's poor start to the season has been overshadowed by the transfer of Croatian midfielder Luka Modric from Tottenham. He trained with his new teammates Monday evening and told Mourinho he will be ready to face Barcelona. He didn't play for Totttenham prior to the transfer and had been training on his own while the deal was finalized.
