MLS scoring average on rise

* While the Golden Boot leaders went scoreless in Week 26, New England's Sene struck his 10th and 11th goals in Wednesday's 3-3 tie with Chivas USA to join 10 others who have scored more than 10 goals. But Sene suffered a knee injury late in the game and is out for the season.

* It's been a decade since MLS averaged three goals per game, and the previous three seasons were its lowest scoring ever. After 256 games in 2012, the league average is 2.68, the highest since the 2008 season produced 2.81.
