Juventus turns attention to January targets

Juventus failed in its bid to land a big-time striker during the summer transfer market, but the Italian champion is not giving up all hope.

“We are continuing to monitor interesting players and we’ll decide whether to make any moves in January,” said Juve director general Beppe Marotta.

Juventus failed land Robin Van Persie (signed by Manchester United from Arsenal), Stevan Jovetic (who stayed at Fiorentina) or Fernando Llorente (who's still at Athletic Bilbao) and had to settle for Dane Niklas Bendtner, signed on loan from Arsenal.

Italian media have picked up on Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho's statement that he believes Llorente will move to Juve in January. Marotta joked. “As long as he is on the market then he will certainly be of interest.

Other names being mentioned as possible Juventus targets include Chelsea's Fernando Torres, Schalke 04's Klaas Jan Huntelaar and Didier Drogba.
