Revs lose top scorer Sene for 6-8 months

[MLS INJURY REPORT] The New England Revolution's leading scorer, Saer Sene, will be out 6-8 months after tearing the ACL in his left knee in the Aug. 29 game against Chivas USA at Gillette Stadium. He continued to play after the injury and scored two more goals to give him 11 for the season, the Revs' highest by a single player since the 2007 season.

Head team physician Dr. Scott Martin performed surgery on Sene's knee Tuesday at the Brigham and Women’s/Mass General Health Care Center in Foxborough.

Sene, who signed with the Revolution from Bayern Munich’s reserve team in the offseason, also had three assists.

Sene, whose father is former Senegalese international Oumar Sene, had been at Bayern since 2009 without being able to break into the first team.
