Sporting KC teams off to perfect starts

[DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY SPOTLIGHT] Sporting Kansas City's two academy teams are both off to 3-0-0 starts, making it the only Development Academy club to win all six games since the launch of the 2012-13 season, the first in which all clubs play year-round schedules.

Perhaps the top prospect on the U-17/18s is its youngest player, 15-year-old Erik Palmer-Brown. The 6-foot-3 defender, who has started all three Development Academy games, has already played for SKC in the MLS Reserve League.

The U-17/18s have been led by Eduardo Moreno with four goals and Cole Stevenson with three. Moreno, SKC's leading scorer last season, graduated from Liberal High School in southwest Kansas and has attracted interest from Mexican clubs. Stevenson won a 2011 Missouri Class 3 championship at Rockhurst High School as a sophomore.

After the 3-0 win over Colorado Rush, goalie Jacole Turner left to try his luck in Croatia.

The U-15/16s have been led by Dakota Karns with three goals and Memo Carrasco and Tucker Stephenson with two apiece.
