Shipalane leads Carolina past Strikers

[NASL: Playoffs] Ty Shipalane scored twice to lead the RailHawks to a 3-1 win over the Fort Lauderdale Strikers in the NASL quarterfinals.

Amir Lowery, one of six Carolina starters who have played in MLS, added the third goal for the RailHawks, last year's regular-season champions who were upset in the semifinals by eventual champion Minnesota.

“Today we played a very good game,” said RailHawks coach Colin Clarke. “The team definitely played playoff soccer tonight and we got the result we needed.”
