Chicago U-17/18 teams all perfect

[DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY SPOTLIGHT] When MLS's Chicago Fire entered the youth market, threatening the territory dominated by Magic PSG and Sockers FC, the question was asked, is there enough Chicago area talent to go around for three teams? The fast start by the three teams, all unbeaten and untied, in the Development Academy's U-17/18 division would seem to indicate there is.

CHICAGO MAGIC PSG. Magic is the only team in the country with a 4-0-0 record. On top of that, it has won all four games by shutouts: 3-0 over Scott Gallagher St. Louis Missouri, 2-0 over Crew Soccer Academy, 4-0 over Internationals and 3-0 over FC Milwaukee. Dzenan Nezirevic leads Magic with three goals.

CHICAGO FIRE. Jeffrey Farina followed up on hat tricks against Internationals (7-0) and Crew Soccer Academy (4-1) with his seventh goal of the season in a 2-0 win over Scott Gallagher St. Louis Metro. The Fire's other star is Marcus Epps, who impressed in the Fire U-15/16s' run at the 2012 Final Weeks. Epps, who hails from Mississippi, scored his third goal of the season against SGSL Metro.

SOCKERS FC. Sockers' wins have been closer: 2-0 against Minnesota Thunder Academy, 2-1 against Shattuck-Saint Mary's Soccer Academy and 3-0 against FC Milwaukee. High school seniors Kirill Likhovid and Ayodele Makinde lead the team with two goals apiece.
