Portugal coach Paulo Bento was given boost on Monday, as Real Madrid released star Cristiano Ronaldo to join up with his squad ahead of their Portugal’supcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Ronaldo sprained his shoulder during Real’s 2-2 draw with Barcelona at the Camp Nou on Sunday, although tests on Monday revealed that the injury wasnot serious.

The striker landed awkwardly on his shoulder after attempting a bicycle kick midway through the second half, with the score 2-1 in Barca’s favor. Despite the injury, hewas able to pick himself up and score the equalizing goal minutes later. It was his second goal of the game.

Ronaldo noticeably winced when clutching at his shoulder throughout theremainder of the game, but he still managed to complete the 90 minutes.
