Worst corner in La Liga history?

[VIDEO PICK: Off the Post] The ball never moves, but objects are sent flying, on this hilarious corner by Juan Carlos of Real Betis against Real Sociedad last Saturday.

While our clip may suggest otherwise, this 22-year-old winger is no stiff.

Full name, Juan Carlos Perez Lopez, born in Madrid, and on loan with Betis from Zaragoza, he made five appearances for the Spanish U-21 team, spent three years on the B, and C, teams of Real Madrid, and even saw 11 glorious minutes on the field with Los Merengues in 2010.

But.

On this attempted corner over he manages to put his left foot through the corner flag at full force, shattering it, without ever touching the ball, then apologizes by way of some sheepish grounds-keeping.

Don’t feel too bad for Juan Carlos. Betis won, 2-0, and headed into the International break fourth in La Liga, just ahead of his old club, Real Madrid, in fifth.
