Van Nistelrooy Back with United

He's going, he's not going, he's going, he's not going. One thing is for sure, Ruud Van Nistelrooy is back in England training with Manchester United, according to several reports. The unhappy Dutchman has seen his club reject bids from both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich due to the "exorbitant prices" United seeks for a player the market says is past his best. While Ruud's heart lies with Madrid, Bayern Munich has no stepped in to become the more likely to secure the striker's services. Bayern's honorary President, Franz Beckenbauer, admitted the club's bid fell short of United's valuation by roughly $6.3 million, but he suggested that if that doesn't work out Bayern might be willing to add Roy Makaay or Claudio Pizarro to the deal. The German Champions said Van Nistelrooy has already signaled his intent to play for them next season. Manchester boss, Sir Alex Ferguson, revealed earlier today that Van Nistelrooy has "asked away" three times in the last year. "Quite frankly, if he wants to leave, there really is no point trying to persuade him to stay," Ferguson said. However, Ferguson has also said that if talks between the interested clubs break down and United's valuation is not met then he has no problem keeping the unhappy striker for another year.
