[USA-URUGUAY] The U.S. under-17 national team got goals from Conor Donovan and RubioRubin in the second half to break a 1-1 tie and beat Uruguay, 3-1, in their international friendly on Sunday at the Argentinos Juniors youth training facility in Buenos Aires. The game markedthe debut of Argentine-American Joel Sonora, the son of former MLS player Diego Sonora.

The match severedas preparation for the U-17s for the Four-Nations Tournament that was scheduled to begin on Tuesday in Santa Fe, Argentina.

Midfielder JuniorFlores gave the USA a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute, but Uruguay tied the score at 1-1 on a goal from Facundo Ospitaleche.

Joel Sonora, amidfielder for Boca Juniors’ youth academy, came on after halftime. Diego Sonora won MLS Cup 1999 with D.C. United. He came to MLS for its launch in 1996 with the Dallas Burn.
