Star striker Cristiano Ronaldo stressed that Real Madrid’s 2-1 loss at Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night was no big deal, Los Blancos remain well-positioned to qualify for the second phase of the UEFA Champions League. The defeat dropped Ronaldo & Co., into second place in Group D with six points from three games, one point behind Dortmund but three ahead of Ajax in third place and five ahead of Manchester City in fourth.

"There is no great drama because there are lot of matches left and we are still well positioned to progress," Ronaldo stated on Real’s official website. "We knew that it would be a difficult match against a good team that are very strong at home. That's soccer and the chances of winning are the same for each side when you play against a great team.” Ronaldo claimed further that the team played well, and that Dortmund’s second goal was “a little bit lucky.”

Sports critic Sportige said the Portuguese “did absolutely nothing to help his team’s cause in their 1-2 loss to Dortmund except for breaking away once from his marker, to score the equalizer in the first half.” The blog continues: “He never helped [Michael] Essien, on the left flank, where Dortmund kept attacking with different players, switching wings non-stop and creating an overload on that side.
