Serbian Police Charge Spurs, Leeds Players in U-21 Brawl

Reports claim that Steven Caulker of Tottenham Hotspur and Tom Lees of Leeds United are the two England U-21 players that have been charged with violent conduct by Serbian police following the brawl that broke out during a U-21 Euro 2013 qualifying game between England and Serbia in Krusevac on Oct. 16.

In total, 12 individuals were charged, including two from England, five from Serbia, as well as assistant coaches from both teams. The AP reports that England U-21 assistant Steve Wingley was seen taking part in the brawl, while the Serbian soccer association has already suspended Nikola Ninkovic and Ognjen Mudrinski for one year and two U-21 assistant coaches for two years for their involvement in the brawl.

UEFA’s disciplinary body has already launched its own investigation of the Oct 16 incident. It will pass judgment on the case November 22.
