[WAKE FOREST-MARYLAND] No. 18 Wake Forest scored three unanswered goals from Ross Tomaselli, Luca Gimenez and Danny Wenzel in the second half to erase a 2-1 halftime deficit and beat No. 1 Maryland, 4-2, handing the Terrapins their firstloss of the season in 17 games.
 
The Demon Deacons ended the ACC season with a 4-1-3 record, making them the third seed in the ACC Tournament behind Maryland and North Carolina,which both finished with 6-1-1 conference records.
 
Sean Okoli also scored for the Deacs with his team-high 10th goal, but Maryland respondedwith goals from John Stertzer on a spectacular bicycle kick and Christiano Francois before the break to take a 2-1lead.

Twice Maryland defender London Woodberry cleared shots off the line early in the second half, but five minutes after Tomaselli’s tying goalWoodberry drew a red card for a foul on Jared Watts.
 
The Deacs capitalized on their man advantage just over three minutes later when Chris Duvall chipped a ball to Gimenez, who buried his first touch to give Wake Forest the lead for good.
 
Wenzel scored his first goal of theseason in the 77th minute on a penalty kick after Luciano Delbono drew a foul just inside the box.
 
Maryland, which already sealed up the topseed in the ACC Tournament, will host to the winner of the No. 8/No. 9 first-round game Tuesday in the quarterfinals at Ludwig Field.

Wake Forest, the No. 3 seed in the ACC Tournament,will host No. 6 seed Virginia on Tuesday night.

The quarterfinal winners will move on to the final four in Germantown, Md.
