Notre Dame claims top seed

[DRAW: NCAA Division I Men] Notre Dame is the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Division I Men's Tournament. The Big East was awarded eight berths. In addition, four other teams were awarded top 10 seeds: No. 3 Georgetown, No. 4 Connecticut, No. 7 Marquette and No. 10 Louisville. The ACC placed five teams in the NCAA Tournament, including No. 2 seed Maryland, while the Atlantic-10, Big Ten and Conference USA each placed four teams.

-- The NCAA Men’s College Cup will be played for the second consecutive year at Regions Field in Hoover, Ala., Dec. 7 and 9.

    And because there are so many teams east of Rockies, and they don't ever travel to West, West Coast gets the shaft. But year after year, West Coast teams miraculously sneak through into semi's, and often win title. I'm sorry, but some of those dinky poo eastern teams would be lucky to win a single match in the Pac12. But it's the same in many sports -- if West Coast got fair allocation in (soccer and baseball for sure) they would completely dominate the tournaments.

    I agree on the West Coast teams being disrespected, as are teams who are not in the "big" conferences. How does Akron, ranked #1 in all four polls and #2 in RPI (behind #1-seed Notre Dame) get seeded at #5?
