Beckham Denies Aussie Loan Reports

David Beckham has denied reports linking him with a move to Australia’s A-League for what would be a 10-game loan stint during Major League Soccer’s off-season. Early
Friday, Football Federation Australia, the Aussie national soccer association, said that Beckham’s management had expressed interest in joining the A-League after the MLS close season, but the
Beckham camp quickly dismissed this as a rumor.
"There is always enormous interest from clubs across the world in signing David as a player,” the Beckham statement said. "There are
absolutely no plans to play in Australia, David is completely focused on the MLS play offs and winning another Championship with the Galaxy."
The FFA had also issued a statement Friday,
claiming that the Beckham had contacted the organization. “The approach from David Beckham's people is another sign of how much the Hyundai A-League has grown in stature on a global basis," the
FFA said. "Beckham is a superstar on the world stage and he would be another massive signing for the Hyundai A-League after the arrivals of Alessandro Del Piero, Emile
Heskey and Shinji Ono. But this approach remains at a very preliminary stage."
In his six-year spell with the Los Angeles Galaxy, Beckham, 37, has gone on two
off-season loans to Italy’s AC Milan in 2009 and 2010.
