Scolari, Parreira to Lead Brazil at 2014 World Cup

Ten years after leading Brazil to its record fifth World Cup title in South Korea and Japan, the Brazilian soccer federation (CBF) on Thursday reappointed Luiz Felipe Scolari as
national team head coach. Scolari replaces Mario Menezes, whom the CBF fired last week. Carlos Alberto Parreira, who led Brazil to the 1994 World Cup title in the United States, will
be the national team coordinator.
"I wish a lot of luck to my friend Parreira and to Felipao," former Brazil striker and World Cup winner Romario said. "We know that now we
will have the best players picked for the team."
Ronaldo, another former Brazil striker and World Cup winner, said during FIFA's Ballon d'Or shortlist naming ceremony:
"Congratulations to [Scolari], it's a great challenge to him. I think Brazil has been in a different moment in which we have to do some recycling. I think Brazilian soccer obviously is not undergoing
its best moment."
