Dempsey: 'Fulham Didn't Value or Appreciate Me'

Clint Dempsey will return to Craven Cottage for the first time since his deadline day transfer to Tottenham from Fulham on Saturday (Fox Soccer, 2:30 pm ET). In an interview, the
American striker reveals that he didn’t feel appreciated at the club, despite scoring 23 goals in all competitions last season.
"If you always felt valued and appreciated enough, I
don't think you'd ever leave, but it came to a point for me where I didn't feel valued and appreciated, not by the fans, but by other situations. That's just the way things went," the 29-year-old
said.
That being said, some of his fondest memories as a player were at Craven Cottage, he said. "Any time I go back, there will always be good memories. It's unfortunate how things
happened in the end but you look forward to going back and how you're received, you're received. But no matter what, I'll always look back with good memories and be grateful for the club and the fans
for the way they took care of me."
In spite all of that I think Dempsey made a faux pas leaving Fulham. He is not going to get the same recognition at Fulham. They are not relying on him for goalscoring.He is not getting the play as he is used to. often left out of the attack by his peers. There are too many aces (while I think they are mostly mediocre) in the eyes of the coach and the fans. Dempsey's golden days are over if he stays at Tottehham, especially with the current coach.
