[MLS AWARDS] Nick Rimando's selection as the winner of the MLS Save of the Year was all but a forgone conclusion. The
Real Salt Lake goalkeeper finished with three of the top four saves of the year.
On April 14, Rimando kept RSL in the game against Sporting Kansas City. Forward Kei Kamara tried to head home a corner kick but got turned away as an off-balance Rimando dived to his left to get his fingertips on the ball.
Rimando's stops against
Los Angeles and New England finished third and fourth in the final voting. Joe Cannon's save for Vancouver against D.C. United took second place.
