Porto loses top seed on Lavezzi's loose goal

[VIDEO PICK: Off the Post] Porto's keeper Helton failed to control a shot on the near post by Ezequiel Lavezzi which put Paris Saint-Germain ahead to stay in France 2-1, and cost the Portugese team a top seed.

Both teams entered Tuesday’s Champions League game having progressed, but PSG finished first in Group A with this victory, when all FC Porto needed was a tie in Paris to win the group. Unfortunately for Helton, and his teammates, this winner that trickled past the line in the 61st minute means Porto will be facing a top seed in the round of 16.

PSG bought four players from Serie A this summer for over $120 million dollars, Lavezzi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marco Verratti, who both played in this game, and defender Thiago Silva, who headed home the opener in the 29th.

Jackson Martinez tied the game in the 33rd, and Porto, which entered week five with 14 points, the most in the tournament, appeared headed for a comfortable draw, and first place, but it was not to be.
