Bayern Munich extended its lead at the top of the German Bundesliga to 11 points with a comfortable 2-0 win away to Augsberg on Saturday. Second-place Bayer Leverkusen and third-place BorussiaDortmund both lost 3-2, to Hannover 96 and VfL Wolfsburg, respectively, leaving Bundesliga.com to wonder if anyone can stop the Bavarian giant from running away with the league title thisseason.

“These are the sort of games you have to win if you’re going to be champions,” Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez said after scoring his second goalof the season since returning from injury.

MidfielderThomas Muller, who scored the first goal from the penalty spot, declared that the gap between the league leader and Dortmund is now too wide for last year’s Bundesliga champion to recover.”If I were a Dortmund player, I would not be talking about the title anymore with 14 points to make up,” he said. “Leverkusen is now our main rival.”
