Not all Brazilians can kick

[VIDEO PICK: Off the Post] An atrocious free kick by a Brazilian keeper in Qatar last weekend, and after you watch it you'll know why the netminder is playing where he is.

Evanildo is paid to stop shots, and his team, El Jaish, won this game 1-0 over Al Rayyan in the Qatar Stars League. That being said, this may be the worst free kick we’ve ever seen.

The Brazilian keeper may have initially thought about going long, saw his teammate late on the right side of the field, tried to change strategy midstream, and pushed it just a bit to the right, for a corner. That could’ve happened right?

His coach sure kept his cool …

    Although this article says that play was restarted with a corner kick, and it certainly looks like the goalkeeper was getting ready for a corner, the actual restart should have been to retake the free kick. The free kick never left the penalty area so the ball was never in play.
