Chelsea and Manchester City target Radamel Falcao indicated he will not be sold during the January transfer window while speaking at an awards ceremony in his native Colombia onThursday. The Atletico Madrid striker credited club owner Enrique Cerezo with getting him to stay.

“I recognise the great effort Enrique Cerezo has made for me tostay at the club,” the 26-year-old said. “And thank goodness our sporting results have been positive. We expect that to remain so until the end of the season.”

With Falcaolikely to remain in Madrid, Chelsea has started looking at other striking options. Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain is on the Blues’ radar, as is out-of-favor Barcelonastriker David Villa and Bayer Leverkusen’s Andre Schurrle. Romelu Lukaku could also be summoned back from his loan to West Bromwich Albion.
