The best free kick all year wasn’t scored by David Beckham or Cristiano Ronaldo. It was scored by Falcao in mid-December. No, not the Colombian superstar playing for Atletico Madrid, this Falcao is from Brazil, and he’s a legend in futsal.

Now 35, Falcao has been named Futsal World Player of the Year three times, he led Brazil to two Futsal World Cup titles, was named World Cup player of the tournament twice, and if you’re wondering if he can play on grass -- Falcao began his career with Corinthians and also played for Sao Paolo, two of Brazil’s biggest soccer clubs.

    Great goal, but the foul? Really? Back into a defender and fall down (slowly, even), and the defender gets called for the foul? But okay, the goal makes up for the bad call...

    Kent, and what was the defender's arm doing? It is a clear foul. Great goal, though.

    The lead referee whistled the foul and it looks like the trail referee was not going to call anything. There's just a minimal amount of contact allowed in futsal, unlike outdoor soccer. But even considering that, I agree with Kent that it's not a foul. What we can all agree on, though, is this is a great goal.
