The chairwoman of the Chelsea Supporters’ Group has warned Coach Rafael Benitez that he can expect more abuse from Chelsea fans if the club does not perform well during itsnext home game against Southampton. The Spaniard and club chairman Bruce Buck were both booed during Chelsea’s 2-0 home loss to Swansea City in the Capital One Cup semi-finalfirst-leg on Wednesday.

Chelsea Supporters’ Group Chair Trizia Fiorellino says Blues fans have been in “turmoil” since Benitez replaced RobertoDi Matteo. “I think if we don’t perform and we go a goal down it could get really nasty,” Fiorellino said. “If he keeps on losing games then this will continue. The fans are in turmoil. Thereare those that won’t accept Benítez at any price, and you have those that feel the current situation is not doing the team any good and feel that they should just accept it until he has gone. That has caused arguments in the stands and scuffles.”

After Benitez took over in November, Chelsea went three games without a win before going on a run of one defeat in eight. However, the Blues have lost their last two home games, including a 1-0 loss to bottom-of-the-standings Queens Park Rangers. “I know five people who have season tickets … and they say they arenot coming back until [Benitez] is gone,” Fiorellino said. “And I understand why they are doing that. They love the club but hate what they are doing. It’s them making their own protest and I admirethem for that.”
