Wild free kick goes everywhere but in

[VIDEO PICK: Twice Off the Bar] The semifinals of the Gulf Cup in Bahrain offered up an impressively struck free kick that had a wicked little mind of its own.

This pinball moment happened in the 60th minute of this scoreless semifinal between the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, eventually won by the UAE, 1-0.

It’s hard to see initially, but clear in the slow-motion replay, that this screaming free kick struck by Khamis Ismaeel of the UAE goes off the crossbar, off the Kuwaiti keeper’s head, off the bar yet again, and then off goalkeeper Nawaf Al Khaldy’s head once more, before eventually going out for a corner.

Which made two bars, two heads, and no goals for Mr. Ismaeel, all on the same free kick.

There’s been no word yet regarding our inquiries if the ball in question was in fact a visa bearing Jabulani that wasn’t properly disposed of in South Africa ...
