[USL PRO] USL PRO's schedule for 2013 includes for the first time interleague games against MLS reserve teams. Each USL PRO team will play 26 games, including
two games against an MLS partner. The league will will include two expansion teams -- Phoenix FC Wolves and VSI Tampa Bay FC -- to give it 13 teams for its third season as a third-level pro league.
The interleague schedule gets underway April 7 when the Los Angeles Galaxy Reserves travel across town to face the Los Angeles Blues at Cal State Fullerton’s Titan Stadium and the Portland Timbers Reserves travel to face VSI Tampa Bay FC.
Four MLS clubs will have affiliate arrangements with USL PRO clubs to which it will loan at least four players on long-term deals: New England Revolution-Rochester Rhinos, Philadelphia Union-Harrisburg City Islanders, Sporting Kansas City-Orlando City and D.C. United-Richmond Kickers. The only MLS club not taking part in the program is Chivas USA.
